I wonder what this time of the year means for you? Whether Christmas forms part of your faith or not, this is still the end of the year and the pressure is usually on to finish all those projects you promised yourself you would get done in 2015.
It is important to remember though that there may be a good reason why those tasks haven’t been done yet. You might not have mastered your time management skills or perhaps you haven’t got the right support or technology in your business yet. So, while you are busy trying to work out how you are going to get things finished before the holidays, it may be a worthwhile exercise to just stop and take stock of the why for a minute.
Right now is the perfect time to look at what you need to be doing differently in your business so that you don’t end up in the same position this time next year. It can be difficult to think about planning when you are so busy doing but what better time is there to examine your business than right now, when you have such a clear picture of your workload? Take time to consider what worked for you this year, what didn’t and what may need to change in the New Year in order to achieve your goals.
This is a planning process I call revolution rather than evolution! Most businesses will consider planning for next year now and will look at how they want the business to evolve in the coming year. Instead, I look at what I would do differently, if I were starting all over again but with the knowledge that I have now. That is revolution. Why not try it for yourself and let me know how you go!
